Kurzbeschreibung
Island10 is a publicly accessible, shaded park structure situated along the shoreline. Based on the Island Framework V1.0, it combines passive cooling strategies with a fully parametric design process. Ten water basins, a triangulated roof, and tapered columns create a dynamic spatial environment that serves both as a place of recreation and as a prototype for climate-adapted, community-oriented structures in the 21st century.

Island10 is the first implementation of the Island Framework V1.0 – a spatial development framework that uses a Voronoi logic derived from evenly distributed, randomly generated seed points. The resulting geometry produces a system of cells, water basins, and roof openings that create a climate-responsive and socially engaging environment. The massive concrete structure acts as a thermal buffer, while the roof geometry and water surfaces generate a natural chimney effect, providing passive cooling without the need for energy-intensive air conditioning.

Beyond its function as a public park, Island10 explores new typological possibilities. With minor transformations, its components can be reinterpreted as courtyard-house typologies, offering potential models for dense, low-rise settlement structures. The project therefore not only demonstrates the atmospheric and functional qualities of a parametrically generated system but also points toward future applications in housing and urban design.
